The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I've been photographing for many years. Even before I was working in a photo lab on a U.S. Navy ship, I would stage images and photograph things with an Instamatic film camera. Imaging has always fascinated me and now that I am in the digital world, my fascination has grown exponentially.
